To my husband: happy first wedding anniversary! After over 7 years together now, I think the last 12 months might just have been the best yet. I don’t talk about him a lot on this blog but I’m incredibly grateful to have this wonderful guy in my life :)

Today we’ll mostly be chilling out, making some very exciting plans for the next 12 months and then we have a fun evening out planned in London town.

I haven’t written much about our wedding on the blog to date but I’ve decided to share a few of my thoughts on wedding planning, starting this week. The more I thought about it, the more I realised that when I was planning our wedding I didn’t find a lot of REAL advice from the massive wedding blogs or ridiculous number of magazines I bought. Both are amazing resources for certain things but I felt like a lot of what I was hearing didn’t gel with my own experience and situation.

So, as well as finally posting some more photos from our day, I’m going to share some of my reflections, tips, advice & thoughts on planning a wedding from overseas, the DIY element and actually sticking to the budget. Most of all, I wish someone had told me what to expect emotionally and about managing stress and anxiety (as I tend to be that way inclined). I’m going to post this in 4 parts…because it turns out I have a lot more to say about it than I thought! Never fear though, I have absolutely no desire to start a wedding blog but I hope some of the things I have to share will be useful to others.

Hope you’re having a lovely Sunday too! x
